Install
git clone https://github.com/DY-2026/GameDesignOS.git && cd GameDesignOS && python -m pip install -e .Run it in a terminal, then start a new agent session so the skill loads. Read the repo's README and scripts before you install: skills run with your agent's permissions.
What it does
GameDesignOS is a set of game design skills with a small local command-line tool around them. Instead of leaving ideas, competitor notes and AI drafts scattered across chats, it keeps them in a project workspace as decisions, assumptions, evidence, experiments, proposals and learning notes that the skills can hand to each other.
The seven skills cover concept work (turning a one-line idea into a player promise, core loop, scope check and prototype test plan), gameplay diagnosis from screenshots, trailers or recordings, first-session pacing and retention experiments, decision-ready proposals and pitches, curating design sources into a knowledge base, translating game design books into Chinese, and tightening your own AI workflows.
The CLI runs locally without calling a model: it routes a request to the right skill, creates workspaces, validates files and stops at a Human Gate, so people rather than the agent accept decisions. The README lists adapters for Codex and Claude Code, and says any agent that reads Markdown skills can use the folders. As of October 2026 the latest stable release is v1.2.0.
