Install
npx unity-mcp-cli install-plugin ./MyUnityProject && npx unity-mcp-cli setup-skills claude-code ./MyUnityProjectRun it in a terminal, then start a new agent session so the skill loads. Read the repo's README and scripts before you install: skills run with your agent's permissions.
What it does
AI Game Developer, published as Unity-MCP, connects AI coding agents to the Unity Editor and to your built game. After you install the Unity plugin, it auto-generates agent skills based on your operating system, Unity version and the packages in your project, or it can configure the agent through MCP instead.
It ships with more than 70 tools for project assets and prefabs, packages, scenes and GameObjects, components, C# scripts (including compiling and running code with Roslyn), play mode control, console logs, EditMode and PlayMode tests, screenshots of the Game and Scene views, and profiler data. Optional extensions add tools for Animation, Cinemachine, the Input System, AI Navigation, particle systems, ProBuilder, Splines, Terrain, Tilemaps and Timeline.
Unlike most editor bridges it also runs inside your compiled game, so you can use LLMs for NPC behavior or in-game debugging. The CLI's default flow signs in to the project's ai-game.dev cloud endpoint; a local server and Docker deployment are also supported.
