What it does
UnitySkills is a Unity package plus agent skills that let an AI coding agent drive the Unity Editor through a local REST server. The project lists 839 skills across 54 categories, plus 29 design advice modules, so the agent can create and change scenes, prefabs, assets and scripts instead of hand-editing files.
It is built around safety controls. There are three permission modes (Approval, Auto and Bypass), a dry-run mode that estimates impact before writing, a JSON audit log of every call, persistent snapshots that survive domain reloads, and batch operations that roll back if a step fails. It can also control several Unity projects at once.
You add the package in Unity's Package Manager from the repo's Git URL, start the server from Window > UnitySkills, then click Install for your agent in the panel. The maintained baseline is Unity 2022.3 and Unity 6. The project credits CoplayDev's unity-mcp as the concept it refactored and extended.
