Vibe coding tools for making games

Vibe-coding builders are chat-to-app tools: you describe what you want and they write and run the code for you. They weren't made only for games, but they can build simple browser video games you can share with a link. They work best for small, web-based ideas.

How to choose

  • Remember these are general app builders. They don't come with game engine features like physics editors or level tools.
  • Compare free-plan limits. Most give a small daily or monthly allowance of messages or credits.
  • Check who owns the code and whether the free plan adds branding to your published site.
  • If you want to learn to code as you go, choose a tool that lets you see and edit the code it writes.

Guides

Questions people ask

What is vibe coding?

Building software by describing what you want in plain words and letting an AI write the code, then testing and asking for changes.

Can a vibe-coding tool make a real video game?

It can make simple browser games. For bigger games, or games for Steam or consoles, a game engine with an AI coding assistant is usually a better fit.

Do I own what I build?

It varies. Lovable's terms say you own your projects and the AI output, and Base44 says it claims no ownership of generated output. Check each tool's commercial note.
